Candidates sought for Jefferson Award PDF Print E-mail
Do you know someone who has inspired through volunteerism in the community? They would be the perfect candidate for the Jefferson Awards.

The Jefferson Awards, sponsored by KSAX-TV, are presented on two levels; national and local. National award recipients represent a “Who’s Who” of outstanding Americans. On the local level, people who do extraordinary things without expectation of recognition or reward.

This is a prestigious and national program that recognizes individuals throughout the country performing great public service, largely without recognition. The Jefferson Awards have been called the Oscars for volunteering and the Nobel Prize for volunteers.

To nominate someone for the Jefferson Awards, stop at any of the sponsor locations to pick up a nomination form or go on-line at www.ksax.com and click on the Jefferson Award link to learn more. You can also call our office at 320-763-5729 and we will send you a nomination form in the mail.

Eligibility: volunteers from college students through senior citizens under the category of the Jefferson Awards and students from Kindergarten to Senior High under the category of the Junior Jefferson Awards.

As a local media partner nominees are restricted to a designated viewing area in greater MN. For a list of the counties included, go to www.ksax.com or call 320-763-5729.

All nominations must be received by Feb. 3, at 5 p.m., 2012 to be eligible.

The Jefferson Award Gala will take place in April 2012 to honor all of the volunteers who are nominated.
