‘They are so helpful and nice’

Auburn Homes has assisted living and memory care communities in Chaska and Waconia

Auburn Homes & Services has continued to fill senior needs with expansion over the years while making sure residents are treated with dignity and respect.

Auburn Homes, a skilled nursing care and rehabilitation facility in Waconia, was built in 2007, and Auburn Meadows, an assisted living and memory care community opened its doors in 2012 adjacent to Auburn Homes.

Auburn Homes & Services serves the greater Carver County area by having operations in both Chaska and Waconia. Auburn Homes & Services is an agency of the Moravian church, and both campuses have full-time, on-site Chaplains.

“We have 400 employees on the two campuses,” said Michelle Yelich, Director of Marketing and Communications at Auburn Homes & Services. “We have a great staff, and many of them have been here a number of years because they love what they do. They love building relationships with the residents and serving them with care, and kindness. We are a tight-knit and compassionate group.”

Living within the Auburn walls are former teachers and community business owners. Many employees at Auburn had those residents as teachers in school or supported their businesses for years, making Auburn a community within itself.

“The staff are wonderful people that are respectful and attentive,” said Melissa, a Certified Nursing Assistant in Auburn Courtyard. “As a care attendant, I enjoy getting residents ready for the day, listening to their stories and the one-on-one time I have with them each day.”

One resident echoed those statements.

“I have lived here for three years,” she said. “The friends I have made and the staff are what I like most about living here. They are so helpful and nice.”

“Everyone is treated with dignity and respect,” said Yelich. “Caring for others with integrity and compassion gives them an opportunity to live a life of purpose.”

Chaska Courts Assisted Living provides an active style of living with the security of having trained staff available to attend to resident needs.

“I knew when my mom and dad decided to move into the assisted living at Auburn nine years ago, it was the right choice for them,” said their daughter. “Once they made the move into this warm and friendly environment, my siblings and I knew it was good for them, and good for us. We loved the fact that they took mom and dad under their wing, and treated them like family.”
