Salvation Army is coming to Albany

The Salvation Army is coming to Albany, Minn., lead by Spencer Linn, a 16 year old junior at Albany High School, who works at Amby’s Foods.

“This will be the first time Albany will have the Salvation Army in town and we will have bell ringers throughout the holiday season in front of our door,” said Linn.

Linn contacted the Salvation Army to see if he could bring the red-kettles to Albany after noticing signs looking for students to ring bells near St. Cloud. Being a grocery store employee, he knew a place where volunteers could ring the bells. Linn has already found half a dozen other volunteers to help him.

“I like having a bell ringer outside the store,” said Linn.

Since he is a younger volunteer than normal, a kettle coordinator from Sauk Centre will supervise Linn as he leads the campaign in Albany this season.
